What do I want to be when I grow up?

In high school I wanted to be a teacher or a museum director. I worked in the library to pay my way through college and realized I really enjoyed it. So I stumbled into library school. I worked as a librarian for a few years, but oh the lure of internet millions was too great. I’ve been working with search and information retrieval ever since. But there is something about helping someone one-on-one find a good book or the perfect source for a homework assignment. Maybe when I grow up I’ll be a librarian again.

So Long and Thanks for All the Fish
So long and thanks for all the fish
so sad that it should come to this
we tried to warn you all but oh dear
you may not share our intellect
which might explain your disrespect
for all the natural wonders that grow around you
So long, so long and thanks for all the fish

Over the past 15 months we’ve lost 23, soon to be 24, folks from my department. We’ve gained about 6 or so folks, leaving us with about 68. You’d think HR or someone would notice that there is a problem.

Blah

I’m coming to the realization that I hate my job. And I think my immense dislike is starting to manifest itself physically. I’m getting headaches and feeling nauseous with increasing frequency. I guess a mind can only live in such a state for so long.
